Sampling Function
Each of the three oscillators per timbre can use samples in one of three modes:
Stereo multisampler (with looping capabilities)
Granular sampler with a rich parameter set
Resonator model using the sampler as an exciter
Samples can be mapped using key and velocity, selection rules can be configured, and individual pitch, gain, and stereo width can be adjusted. They are stored in approximately 2GB of internal flash memory (including over 1GB of pre-populated Quantum factory samples). New samples can be created from an external stereo audio input or by recording Quantum's own sounds internally. WAV file format (44.1 kHz sample rate) samples can also be imported to the internal flash memory via an SD card.
Quantum is also highly capable of creating sample-based sounds, from classic synths to uncharted territories. However, Quantum's use of samples is within the context of a synthesizer, not as a simple sample playback keyboard like traditional sampling instruments or third-party libraries.
