Digital Performer 9 Key New Features

- Bundled MOTU MX4 Software Synthesizer
MX4 is a hybrid software synth that combines diverse synthesis techniques, including subtractive synthesis, wavetable synthesis, FM synthesis, amplitude modulation, and analog emulation. MX4 includes a sound bank of 120 new EDM-inspired presets.

Designed by synthesizer guru Erik Norlander, this new sound bank covers every genre, from deep house and neo-disco to electro-swing and EDM.
- Includes five new plug-ins
Newly added: FET-76, an emulation of the 1176LN limiting amplifier (Revision D/E); MultiFuzz, modeled on Craig Anderton's 1970s QuadraFuzz; MicroG and MicroB polyphonic octave generators for guitar and bass; and MegaSynth, a subtractive synth processor.

- MX4 Soft Synthesizer
MX4 is a powerful 64-bit plug-in synthesizer inspired by traditional subtractive synthesizers. Fat basses, catchy leads, analog pads, and vintage electronica sounds are all instantly available and easily saved within DP projects.

- Added automation lanes in the sequence editor
Audio and MIDI automation (volume, pan, plug-in settings, etc.) can be displayed separately below each track. You can open and close as many lanes as you like for greater editing convenience.

- Spectrum Display in the Sequence Editor
You can display the spectrally analyzed waveform of each audio track alongside the traditional waveform. It's displayed colorfully and clearly within the Sequence Editor timeline, allowing you to see the frequency distribution of your audio material at a glance.

- MusicXML Export
Projects created in DP can be exported as music notation as MusicXML files. MusicXML files can be imported into software such as Finale and Sibelius. Dynamics and musical symbols are all preserved during export.

- Floating Plug-in Windows
Plug-in windows can be floated in front of the DP window. You can set a global floating window preference, or set floating for each window individually.

- MIDI Learn Support for Audio Plug-ins
You can now map MIDI controller knobs, faders, and switches to audio plug-in parameters.
