■Timecode Distribution
■Buffered outputs:
Multiplexing, distributing timecode from a single source to multiple locations, can cause many problems. The SR-28 eliminates these issues by distributing timecode through balanced, buffered outputs.
■Reshaping:
Brainstorm's timecode distribution is superior to distribution using audio DAs because it reshapes the signal source before distribution. However, audio DAs also carry all distortion and level fluctuations present in the source.
■Low input threshold:
The SR-28 recognizes stable levels above the noise floor, so it can recognize timecode at levels far below the threshold of many readers (-30dB or greater).
This feature also makes it possible to recover unreadable codes by restoring them to an optimal level.
■Output level adjust:
Output levels are individually adjustable via front-panel pots from fully off to +12dB.
The adjusted level remains constant regardless of input level fluctuations.
■Cleaning up unreadable time code:
By eliminating amplitude distortion and level fluctuations, the SR-28 can recover most unreadable codes.
■Dual Redundant Power Supply:
The SR-28 offers two power inputs and automatic switching over in the event of a failure.
■Sound reinforcement:
The SR-28 can drive time code over long cables, ideal for synchronization during live shows and remote recording.
