SPL / PASSEQ Red

This is an upgraded version of the Model 2595 Passeq, released in 2005. The selectable frequencies for the 12 switchable frequency ranges on each channel have been changed, and the Q value has been adjusted by combining optimal coils, capacitors, and resistors. By skillfully combining passive filter components, this mastering equalizer produces beautiful acoustic results not possible with active filters.

■Parametric Equalizer

*This product requires an outlet that can supply AC115V 50/60Hz. Please note that it cannot be used properly with a normal household outlet (AC 100V) that does not boost the voltage.

In 2005, SPL released the mastering equalizer Model 2595 Passeq. This passive equalizer was the first product to use the company's 120V rail technology. The ""PASSEQ"" Model 1650 (Black) / Model 1654 (Red) is a model that inherits the excellent characteristics of Passeq while further improving it.

The Model 2595 Passeq has three frequency ranges with 12 frequency switches per channel. With 72 passive filters (36 boosts and 36 cuts per channel), Passeq was the most powerful passive EQ system ever. The new PASSEQ has changed the selectable frequencies and adjusted the Q value by combining the optimal coils, capacitors, and resistors. The mid-band in particular is more harmonious than the previous model.
The passive filter components are well combined to produce beautiful sonic results that are not possible with active filters. An important element of this process is the loading and saturation of the coils and capacitors. In contrast to the extremely fast response that active filters are characterized by, the latency that occurs with passive filters results in a musical texture.
