From Shigeru Kawai, Kawai's premier grand piano series, this instrument features the grand piano sounds of the SK-EX concert grand piano and the Kawai concert grand piano EX, which was actually used in the world's most prestigious piano competition, the Chopin International Piano Competition.
For these piano recordings, Kawai, with its extensive piano craftsmanship, selected the finest pianos possible, and had them superbly tuned by a top-tier tuner (MPA). Each of these pianos was meticulously recorded, resulting in uncompromising piano sound. The HI-XL sound source delivers smooth tonal transitions from soft to hard strikes, minimal chord muddiness, and a realistic piano sound with a sustained decay, fully expressing the quality of the instrument.
■Top-Firing Speakers Recreate the Sound Field of a Grand Piano
In a grand piano, the soundboard, which generates sound, is attached horizontally to the floor, so the sound is emitted in two directions: upward and downward. This is faithfully reproduced by two top-firing speakers mounted on the top of the digital piano.

In conjunction with the other speakers, this multi-directional sound projection creates a multi-layered, immersive sound.

■Bringing Wooden Keys Closer: The Seesaw-Style Wooden Key Grand Feel Standard Action
The seesaw-style wooden key Grand Feel Standard Action features both wooden white and black keys, and incorporates the same seesaw structure as a grand piano. Three sensors meticulously detect key movement, allowing you to experience the expressive power and rich touch unique to a grand piano, all the more captivating.

You can record your performances to a USB flash drive in WAV or MP3 format. You can also play your favorite songs, and you can also overdub and record line-in onto audio files.
