PRESONUS / SW5E

The PRESONUS/SW5E AVB is an AVB switch offering five XLR Ethernet ports with locking mechanisms. Its rugged housing makes it ideal for live sound systems. Four ports support PoE, allowing for power supply. Network link and activity indicators provide constant visual confirmation of network data flow.

■PoE: Remotely Power Your Network Devices
PoE (Power over Ethernet) is a technology that enables power to be supplied over a network cable. PoE allows a single cable to carry both network data, such as digital audio, and power. PoE-compatible devices do not require a local power source, so they can be installed anywhere an Ethernet cable is available. Four of the SW5E's five ports are PoE-enabled. The remaining non-PoE port is ideal for linking to an additional switch to create a larger network.

■Tough Design for Live Sound
Live sound puts a heavy load on equipment, and network failures can ruin a show. That's why the SW5E is designed to withstand the rigors of live sound, delivering reliable performance every time. In addition to its robust locking XLR Ethernet connectors, the SW5E features a rugged, all-metal chassis and is rack-mountable using a rack tray (sold separately). It also features an internal power supply with a standard IEC connector, eliminating the need for direct-plug adapters that can easily become disconnected.

■StudioLive Network Solutions
When used with StudioLive digital mixers, the SW5E AVB switch offers many great features. Use the SW5E to network multiple StudioLive Series III consoles, or connect to StudioLive AI-series consoles or StudioLive RML-series rack mixers (as stage boxes). Using the SW5E as the network center, you can connect StudioLive Series IIIs. You can even create larger systems by cascading two StudioLive Series IIIs and using the SW5E to connect them to an AVB network.

You can also use the SW5E to connect non-PreSonus AVB-compatible devices. As long as those devices comply with AVB requirements, they're compatible with the SW5E.
