UVI recreates the sound of the Fairlight llx, a synth that cost 12 million yen in the 80s!

In the '80s, the Fairlight IIx, costing ¥12 million, was a dream instrument, not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of price. This led to its popularity among renowned artists, including Peter Gabriel, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Herbie Hancock, Jean Michel Jarre, and Thomas Dolby, and it went on to shape the future of digital instruments. Rather than simply imitating or reminiscing on nostalgia, UVI decided to offer a new instrument that inherited the studio's iconic legacy. As a result, we have created three software instruments specifically for this instrument: a digital synth, a multi-framing instrument, and a drum machine.

Darklight IIx is a massive sound collection and instrument suite that combines the latest technology, including powerful analog-modeled filters, LFOs, envelopes, and effects, with an interface that resembles the original.

Page P - Digital Synth
Instantly access hundreds of sounds. A wide variety of sounds and instruments are included, including bass, brass, bells, strings, guitar, orchestral hits, synths, drums, percussion, sound effects, keyboards, piano, organ, woodwinds, reeds, and even voice. Effective and versatile control parameters allow for quick and dynamic sound manipulation.

Page B - Digital Drum Machine
A bold and wild monophonic synthesizer with four oscillators. Achieve any type of synth bass or mono synth sound.

Page U - Digital Multi-Phraser
Darklight IIx's Multi-Phraser combines a three-part phrasing unit for a new synth experience, capturing the captivating sounds of real instruments.
