It's no exaggeration to say that many of the hit songs you heard on the radio in the 1960s originated with the Sta-Level. Now, to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Retro Gold Edition is here! Six recovery (release) times and three selectable modes expand the range of operation compared to the original. ""Single"" mode delivers a smooth sound ideal for bass. ""Double"" mode is versatile enough for a wide range of sources. ""Triple"" mode delivers fast transients without sacrificing musicality. These new features allow you to fully control the dynamics of any input source.

Origin
Sta-Level features a new program-controlled release circuit. Even at up to 40dB of gain reduction, the Sta-Level delivers dense, pure compression without the ""side effects"" common in conventional compressors. The 6V6 push-pull output stage provides a wide voltage swing for adjusting the line output gain. The result of this design is the Sta-Level, which blends seamlessly into any track, delivering unprecedented levels of airiness and warmth.

Revision to the original design includes:

- XLR transformer-balanced inputs and outputs
- Hand-selected coupled capacitors
- High-quality custom transformers
