■Hybrid Maple Shell
This hybrid shell construction is inherited from Yamaha's flagship PHX series drums. The shell's central core is made of durable wenge, native to Africa, sandwiched between layers of maple on both sides. This hybrid construction enhances the bright, warm sound characteristic of maple with a firm, rich sound, achieving a wide dynamic range from the midrange to the lows. Absolute Hybrid Maple delivers the exact sound a drummer desires, from pianissimo (pp) to fortissimo (ff).

■Hook Lugs
All shells are equipped with hook lugs, allowing for quick and easy head changes while providing durability and accurate tuning even with high tension tuning. The lug base is designed to minimize the contact area with the shell, maximizing shell resonance.

■YESS III Shell Mounting System
The ""Y.E.S.S. II-m"" model is an evolution of Yamaha's proprietary tom mounting system, the Y.E.S.S. (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System). The new Y.E.S.S.III tom mount system is an even more advanced development. Its resin plate minimizes interference with the shell's resonance, resulting in natural, extended sustain.

■Newly Designed Tom Holder Base
The newly designed tom holder base is lightweight and has a reduced contact area, maximizing the resonance of the bass drum shell.

■Bearing Edge Shape
To optimally control the overall tone of the drum set, the bass drum, floor tom, tom-toms, and snare each feature a unique bearing edge shape. The floor tom, tom-tom, and snare drums feature an edge shape of 45°/R1.5*. The bass drum features a sharper angle of 30°/R1.5, resulting in a deep, powerful bass sound.

■Vent Holes
Vent holes (air holes), which allow air to escape from the shell at an appropriate rate, are an important factor in determining the feel of the strike. The number and placement of vent holes are optimized for each shell size to control the attack time and sustain length.
