The hybrid shell structure is inherited from Yamaha's flagship drums, the PHX Series. The shell's central core is made of strong African wenge wood, sandwiched between two layers of maple. This hybrid structure enhances the bright, warm sound characteristic of maple with a hard, rich sound, achieving a wide dynamic range from the midrange to the bass. Absolute Hybrid Maple clearly expresses the sound the drummer is looking for, from pianissimo (pp) to fortissimo (ff).

■Hook Lug
All shells are equipped with hook lugs. This allows for quick and easy head changes, while also ensuring durability and accurate tuning for high-tension tuning. The lug base is designed to minimize the contact area, maximizing the shell's resonance.

■YESSⅢ Shell Mount System
The ""Y.E.S.S.Ⅱ-m"" model is an evolution of Yamaha's original tom mount system, the Y.E.S.S. (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System). This model features the new, evolved ""Y.E.S.S.Ⅲ"" tom mount system. Its resin plate minimizes interference with the shell's resonance, producing natural, extended sustain.

■Newly Designed Tom Holder Base
The newly designed tom holder base is lightweight and has a reduced contact area, maximizing the resonance of the bass drum shell.

■Bearing Edge Shape
To optimally control the overall tone of your drum set, we've adopted a uniquely shaped bearing edge for each of the bass drum, floor tom, tom-toms, and snare. The floor tom, tom-toms, and snare drum feature a 45°/R1.5* edge shape. The bass drum features a sharp 30°/R1.5 shape, resulting in a deep, powerful bass tone.

■Vent Holes
Vent holes (air holes) allow air to escape from the shell, playing an important role in determining the feel of the shell. The number and placement of vent holes are optimized for each shell size to control the attack and sustain.
