The String Saver creates a thin Teflon membrane as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle, reducing string breakage and improving tuning stability. String Saver creates a thin Teflon film as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle. This acts as a lubricant, preventing the string from becoming too tight against the saddle and spreading the stress that tends to be concentrated in one spot over a wider area. This reduces string breakage. String Saver saddles produce a deep, crisp tone, reminiscent of vintage steel saddles, resulting in improved sustain.
