RedNet 1 adds eight high-quality inputs and outputs to your network with one Ethernet cable. This interface, which can be remotely controlled on a network, can be installed anywhere.
■ Audio interface
Equipped with Focusrite's high-quality 24-bit AD and DA converters, RedNet 1 supports sampling rates up to 192 kHz and achieves a dynamic range of 119 dB. The D-sub 25-pin terminal on the rear panel can be connected to an analog patch bay or connection terminal box.
RedNet 1 is a converter that realizes near zero latency transfer of 8 channels of audio. There are three ways to connect RedNet 1 to your computer:
・ Use with CoreAudio and ASIO compatible applications such as DigitalPerformer, Logic, Nuendo using RedNet PCIe card
Use with Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools HDX and Pro Tools HD native using the RedNet 5 DigiLink connector
・ Use with Core Audio and ASIO compatible applications using a computer equipped Ethernet terminal and a general-purpose cable (and “Dante Virtual Soundcard”)
■ What is RedNet?
RedNet is Focusrite's brand new professional audio interface. Focusrite's hardware, which adopts the new generation transmission standard "Dante" for multi-channel audio, has free system design and high reliability, has the quality required for live PA, equipment sound and recording systems.
RedNet can handle up to 256 inputs and outputs of digital audio using common IP-based Ethernet devices. It can be used in combination with many partner companies' products that support the Dante protocol as well as stand-alone system design. This not only supports system construction in live PAs, broadcast stations, and recording studios, but also supports equipment sounds such as conference systems and building broadcast systems.
RedNet can be configured with low-latency PCIe cards or virtual sound cards *, and can be connected to ProTools HD / HDX / HD Native systems and MADI systems.
* Latency depends on your system environment and sampling rate settings.
