A summing mixer with 32 input channels that packs SSL sound into a 2U rack.
■DAW Automation Controlled Summing Engine
Sigma is a one-of-a-kind DAW automation controlled SuperAnalogue summing engine.
Sigma is a new concept summing engine that mixes with DAW automation and delivers SSL's SuperAnalogue sound quality. Analog level control using the MDAC is identical to the functionality found in studio consoles like Duality and AWS. Use fader automation data created in your DAW to control Sigma's MDAC, allowing you to mix down tracks in a 100% analog environment. It features 16 flexible channel inputs (up to 32 channels) that can be individually switched to mono or stereo, with accurate LED metering for all channels. Two stereo buses, each with a dedicated output and individual stereo insert point, also feature direct outputs. Mix Bus B can also be integrated with Mix Bus A for final mixing.
The monitor section provides a headphone output for artist monitoring and a monitor output for studio monitoring. The Sigma features two monitor outputs, Main and Alternate, allowing for connection of two monitor sets. The monitor source can be switched by selecting the matrix with a front-panel switch. Front-panel pots allow independent level control for Mix A, Mix B, Monitor Out, and Headphone Out. Also included is a Talkback input (line level) and an adjustable Monitor Dim.
Monitor level, monitor source switching, insert, Talkback, B to A summing, and mono check functions can be controlled via MIDI from a standard control panel. Efficient setup is possible using the MIDI easy-learn function. Similar functions can also be easily and quickly switched using the two front-panel user switches On/Hold or the rear footswitch input. The Sigma can also be connected to a PC via ipMIDI, enabling even more extensive functionality and configuration changes to be easily and flexibly controlled across platforms.
