■ Organ Section
The tonewheel organ uses a virtual tonewheel system, while the transistor organ uses a waveform synthesis system, achieving optimal sound quality and operability for each model. It also features a majestic pipe organ. From combo performances to worship, it's perfect for any application that requires organ sound.
■ Extra Voice Section
Keyboard instrument sounds such as piano, electric piano, and clavi are available in the Extra Voice section. Dedicated buttons make tone selection easy.
■ Drawbars
Nine drawbars shape the organ's sound. By drawing out the nine drawbars in nine stages, the number of sound combinations possible is nine to the power of nine, creating approximately 253 million different tones.
■ Percussion
A ""thud"" decay sound is added when notes are played, giving the Hammond organ its distinctive crisp attack. The percussion section features the SECOND, which produces the second harmonic (a 4' note), and the THIRD, which produces the third harmonic (a 2 2/3' note). The FAST switch adjusts the decay time, while the SOFT switch adjusts the intensity of the sound.
■ Vibrato & Chorus
Scanner vibrato, which uses several types of filter circuits to change the phase and periodically shift pitch, was invented in 1945. The larger the number (V1 → V2 → V3), the greater the fluctuation in the sound. Chorus creates a vibrant, full-bodied sound by mixing the original sound with the vibrato-applied sound. These controls can be applied independently to the upper and lower sections.
■ Leslie
The Leslie speaker is an essential component in Hammond organ performance. The Doppler effect can be achieved by rotating two rotors: the horn rotor on the high notes and the bass rotor on the low notes. The slow rotation state is called SLOW, and the fast rotation state is called FAST.
