INS-SP is an insulator that allows for various settings, including tuning with three-point and four-point support.
~From the manufacturer's website~
The advantage of using spikes to mount audio equipment is that they efficiently suppress the propagation of vibrations at the point of contact between the equipment and the floor, improving sound response, signal-to-noise ratio, and resolution.
When using spikes, spike mounts are typically used to prevent damage to the floor, but the physical properties of the spike mounts are also known to have a significant impact on sound quality.
Furthermore, spike mounts must meet two essential requirements: high dimensional precision and be made from a highly rigid material that can withstand a single point load.
If the dimensional precision of the spike mount is low, gaps will form between the spike and the equipment, causing it to wobble and preventing the point contact from functioning properly.
Even with spike mounts with low rigidity, the point contact will be gouged under the load, causing the equipment to wobble. Wood and resin materials, as well as copper alloys and aluminum, are surprisingly weak against single point loads, and sharp spikes will gouge the point contact, resulting in incomplete point contact and negatively impacting sound quality. Additionally, wood and stone materials are prone to chipping and cracking, making them less reliable as spike holders.
Oyaide Electric has the expertise to select the best material for each item and process it using the optimal method. We explored and tested various materials to find the material and processing method that best combines the sound quality, dimensional precision, and rigidity required for a spike holder, and the ""INS-SP"" was born.
