The DRS8-mk2 is an 8-channel mic/line preamp and D.I. module that uses Phoenix Audio's traditional transformerless input and Class A output circuitry.
The DRS series is based on Phoenix Audio's first product, the DRS2. ​​Released in 1999, this custom-made DRS2 has since garnered a cult following. The original Class A output circuit used here was designed by David Rees, the circuit designer behind the Neve 2253 limiter and 2254 limiter/compressor.

The DRS8-mk2 features a new Class A output circuit that utilizes the characteristics of the original circuitry along with custom-wound transformers, resulting in a highly acclaimed, more ""vacuum tube""-like sound.

Each channel is equipped with an input switch, level meter, Pad/+48V/Phase/HPFilter/Mute buttons, and an output level control, allowing you to monitor any channel via headphones. In addition to XLR, DB25P (TASCAM layout/inch pitch) connectors are also available for outputs, meeting modern recording needs.
