UAD-2 SATELLITE connects via FireWire, allowing you to use UAD plug-ins even in iMac and MacBook Pro environments. Like the PCIe-based UAD-2, all products come standard with Analog Classics plug-ins (Teletronix LA-2A Audio Leveler, UA 1176LN/SE Classic Limiter, Pultec EQP-1A Equalizer, RealVerb Pro Room Modeler, and CS-1 Channel Strip).

* macOS 10.6.8 or later is required as of UAD Version 6.2, released in April 2012.
* macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion is supported as of UAD Version 6.3.1, released in September 2012.
- Intel-based Macintosh computer
- The latest UAD plug-in software is recommended
- An available Firewire 800 or Firewire 400 port
- 2GB or more of free hard disk space
- 1024 x 800+ high-resolution monitors
- CD-ROM drive or internet connection (for software installation)
- Internet connection (for product registration and additional plug-in purchases)
- Host application compatible with VST, AU, and RTAS plug-ins

* Does not work on PowerPC-based Macintosh computers.
* As of September 2012, UAD plug-ins are native 32-bit applications. Installation is possible on 64-bit OS environments, but only for use with DAWs that support 32-bit plug-ins.
* Additional plug-ins can be purchased directly from the Universal Audio website. Payment can be made using the voucher included with the product or a credit card. You can try all plug-ins as a 14-day demo before purchasing.
* An internet connection is required for product activation and plug-in purchase.
