The history of the Focusrite ISA series dates back to 1985. It began when George Martin commissioned legendary console designer Rupert Neve to design a new module for a console at AIR Montserrat Studios. The resulting ISA110 module was so outstanding that a similar request came from AIR Studios in London. These original modules form the foundation of today's Focusrite ISA series. Legendary sounds have been delivered to studios, artists, producers, and engineers worldwide. Literally hundreds of hit songs have been created through the Focusrite ISA series, and continue to be so today.

■ Two Legendary Microphone Preamps

The Focusrite ISA Two combines two independent microphone preamplifier modules from the original ISA 110 module into a single unit. It features traditional, top-of-the-line solid-state electronics and the original Lundahl LL1538 input transformer, specially specified by Rupert Neve himself. The ""Two"" is an incredibly versatile number, perfect for recording vocals and instruments, or stereo piano recording. Even if you only need two microphone preamps, their construction and components must be top-notch. If you require even more channels, we also offer the ISA 428 Mk II (4 channels) and ISA 828 (8 channels) models.

The ISA Two is a dual-mono channel microphone preamp that inherits the preamp design of the ISA 110, a classic vintage unit that was a channel module of Focusrite's historic mixing console, the ""Forte.""

The two microphone preamps also feature inputs usable as instrument DIs and balanced line inputs, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from personal recording to stage performances.

Traditional Microphone Preamps and Variable Input Impedance

The ISA Two's microphone preamps are equipped with preamps using ISA's traditional transformers. The ISA One inherits the sound and functionality of the still-popular ISA 110 preamp technology.

The ISA One features a variable impedance circuit that allows you to change the impedance setting. In addition to the impedance of the original ISA 110, a total of four impedance settings can be selected to match your microphone. This feature solves compatibility issues caused by differences in impedance characteristics between microphones and preamps. The ISA Two works with a wide range of microphones, from low-cost to high-end, and from modern to vintage.

80dB Gain

The ISA Two boasts a wide 80dB gain stage and low noise for a clear sound. The high-gain input is sufficient for microphones with low output, such as ribbon microphones.

DI and Line Input

In addition to the microphone preamp, the ISA Two is equipped with a line input and a DI (instrument) input for directly connecting electric guitars and basses. The Focusrite preamp connected to the front panel input terminals delivers a transparent and clean sound.

The rear panel also features balanced line inputs, allowing you to switch between microphone, instrument, and line inputs with a single switch.

Balanced Insert Inputs/Outputs

The ISA Two features balanced insert inputs and outputs, allowing you to connect external processors such as EQs and compressors. This can be controlled with a single on/off switch for the insert points.

Variable High-Pass Filter

The ISA Two is equipped with an 18dB/octave, variable cutoff frequency filter. This allows you to cut unwanted low frequencies and adjust the low end during recording.
