This analog synthesizer features two oscillators and a filter, allowing you to create more extreme sounds. The oscillator section can be used as a standard 2-OSC, and also features the X-MOD function found on KORG's classic Mono/Poly.

■The monotron DUO is an analog synthesizer with two oscillators and a filter, allowing for more extreme sounds. The oscillator section can be used as a standard 2-oscillator synthesizer, and the X-MOD (cross modulation) function featured in KORG's classic Mono/Poly has been revived. By modulating the pitch of Oscillator 1 with the waveform of Oscillator 2, you can create anything from vibrato effects, which use an LFO to cyclically modulate pitch, to the extreme metallic sounds of an FM synthesizer.
■The monotron DUO's ribbon controller keyboard now features a scale function, familiar from the KAOSSILATOR. With a switch, you can choose from four scales: chromatic, major, minor, and off. Choose the scale that best suits your playing style: chromatic for precise pitch, like playing a piano, or major or minor for musical phrases that flow naturally.
■The monotron DUO is equipped with the highly acclaimed VCF circuit, originally found in KORG's legendary MS-10 and MS-20. The powerful analog filter dramatically transforms the sound, delivering a distinctive character that never gets lost on stage, even at live shows or events.
■A small built-in speaker. Combined with its battery operation and compact size, this single unit is easy to take anywhere and enjoy. What's more, you can also output the sound from a digital audio player or other external input through the speakers along with the monotron DUO sound. This incredibly compact system opens up new possibilities for performance.
