The SP-ST-01 Nickel vintage-style tremolo bridge is packed with Freedom Custom Guitar's attention to detail. To recreate the vintage sound, the inertia block (tremolo block) is made of unchamfered, unpainted steel. The shallow string rests also provide a string tension feel similar to that of a vintage guitar.

The string holes in the bridge plate are also partially tapered to reduce string breakage.

■There are several factors that determine a guitar's tone. Among these, the ""material"" and ""weight"" of the bridge, which transmits string vibrations to the body, are particularly important. The FreedomCGR synchronized tremolo unit was created by combining the excellent sound quality of older synchronized tremolos with the functionality we seek. First, to recreate the tone of the original Synchro, we used a chamfered, unpainted steel inertia block, which significantly affects the tremolo bridge's tone. To recreate the feel of a used instrument, we adopted an 11.3mm string spacing. We also made the inertia block's string stop shallower to recreate the tension that's so important when playing. Second, functionality is key for the base plate of the bridge itself. To address the problem of synchronized tremolos' tendency to break strings, we tapered the edges of the holes where the strings pass through the inertia block and exit the base plate, making them less likely to break than standard bridges. Finally, to address the issue of the octave adjustment being difficult when using thicker-gauge strings due to the narrow saddle movement, we widened the base plate's saddle movement area, widening the saddle's range of movement. Thanks to these improvements, the FreedomCGR synchronized tremolo unit has old-fashioned sound quality but improved functionality.
