A Yamaha glockenspiel. This model uses carbon steel for the soundboard.
■Glockenspiel
Carbon Steel
- The most standard material for glockenspiel soundboards is subjected to a special heat treatment to optimize acoustics. This type offers excellent cost performance.
Nodal String + 1-Pin System
- This system maximizes the resonance of the soundboard by threading a string over moderately elastic felt, minimizing contact with the soundboard. The soundboard is secured using a 1-pin system, securing it at the acoustically optimal point.
L-Curve
- The tuning curve ensures pitch is in tune when played with other concert instruments (piano, wind instruments, etc.). Glockenspiels use an L-curve tuning system, with only the treble treble tuned higher.
Standard Soundboard Size
- This is the standard size for glockenspiel soundboards. It is suitable for music classes, instrumental ensembles, etc. Width: 25mm (50D)
Standard 2 1/2 octaves
・F57 to C88・This is the most standard range. Most songs can be covered within this range.
Resonating box system
・This is the most standard system for glockenspiels, where the entire instrument resonates within the resonating box (case).
