The C 747 V11 is the successor to the C 747, affectionately known as the ""pencil microphone."" Since its release in 1987, the C 747 has been well-received for its excellent acoustic performance and compact, inconspicuous appearance, leading to its use in a variety of locations, including broadcasting stations, recording studios, and halls. The newly released C 747 V11 retains its simple appearance and traditional sound, while adjusting the polar pattern and frequency response. This provides excellent presence for the speaker's voice, resulting in clearer sound quality. It also boasts excellent off-axis characteristics, ensuring clear capture of the speaker's voice, even in group discussions with high ambient noise or in environments with significant reverberation. Another major advantage is that the sound and level remain largely consistent, even when the speaker moves around a lot, making it ideal as a speech microphone. It also boasts improved resistance to RF interference from mobile phones and wireless microphone systems, preventing noise even when unexpected radio waves are encountered.
The C 747 V11 incorporates an ultra-compact capsule with high sensitivity and low self-noise. Despite its small φ9mm size, it boasts excellent acoustic balance and a flat response across the entire frequency range. With a maximum sound pressure level of 133dB SPL and an equivalent noise level of 21dB (A-weighted), it also boasts a wide dynamic range, making it suitable for not only speech but also high-intensity instruments such as drums and saxophone. The standard crank clip and gooseneck allow for flexible positioning, ensuring precise pickup of the desired sound. It also features a switchable low-cut filter to reduce unpleasant low-frequency noise and floor vibrations.
