API / 225L

The 225L discrete compressor provides ideal sound processing for all studios, live stages, and broadcast stations. Regardless of threshold level or ratio settings, the output level always maintains unity gain. Various adjustments are made in real time without changing the output level. Both ""feedforward"" (NEW) and ""feedback"" (OLD) gain reduction modes are selectable on the front panel. There is also a soft or hard selector to choose between a very natural ""over-easy"" compression or a typical hard-knee type that produces a strong limiting effect. The 225L can be used individually for each channel, or two units can be stereo-linked via rear access pins for stereo use. It also has a sidechain input.
