Ex-pro AC cable. High-purity aluminum ribbon is used for the shield to reduce incidental noise. Cotton thread is used for the buffer material to absorb and disperse conductor vibrations, preventing sound coloration caused by inherent vibrations.

■ Conductor
Many fans of solid-wire conductors believe that using twisted wire creates a resonant sound due to the micro-vibrations between the thin wires when current passes through. However, PSE prohibits solid-wire conductors as equipment cables, making their manufacture and sale impossible. Therefore, we developed a unique structure that maintains the straightness of solid-wire conductors while suppressing the wire vibrations that can occur when using thick copper wires, a drawback of solid-wire conductors. This has resulted in an AC cable that meets PSE standards and delivers sound quality that exceeds that of solid-wire conductors.

■ Brocade Thread Interposition
Cotton thread is used as an interposition (buffering material) to absorb and disperse conductor vibrations and prevent sound coloration due to inherent vibrations. Furthermore, cotton thread, a natural material, suppresses static electricity generated by polymeric materials such as PVC, PE, and polyolefin, significantly contributing to quieter sound.

■Aluminum Shielding
Shielding is extremely important for preventing noise from entering from the power supply and for preventing noise radiation and backflow generated by the equipment. After listening to braided shields with different wire diameters and braid ratios, as well as shields made of copper foil of various thicknesses, shielding made of high-purity aluminum ribbon produced the least extraneous noise and achieved the highest S/N ratio.

■AC Plugs and Inlets
A blind test was conducted under the same conditions using a collection of currently available PSE-certified connectors, and the best results were obtained with the AET PSE-018HG and PSE-320HG, which feature a special alloy and special surface treatment.
