The H949 Harmonizer is a plugin that faithfully emulates the world's first pitch shifter with deglitch (glitch removal) functionality, released by Eventide in 1979. It represents a significant evolution from its predecessor, the H910, and introduces a groundbreaking algorithm that stretches and compresses playback time while maintaining pitch.

In addition to its unique ""MicroPitch"" function that precisely controls minute pitch changes, it integrates a variety of effects such as reverse pitch shift, randomized delay, and flanger into a single intuitive interface.

It supports a wide range of applications, from natural vocal doubling and guitar stereo expansion to devilish sci-fi sound design. Furthermore, the ""H949 Dual,"" which creates supreme breadth and thickness by connecting two H949s in parallel, is also included, bringing overwhelming presence and inspiration to any track.

The World's First Time Machine
Inheriting the legacy of the H910 Harmonizer, the H949 was born as Eventide's first pitch shifter with deglitch (glitch removal) functionality. Manufactured from 1979 to 1984, this legendary unit introduced MicroPitch, which precisely controlled minute pitches using unique single-sideband modulation technology, and also featured unique flanger, reverse, and randomized pitch effects.

At the time of its announcement, it was described as follows:

""...A combination of digital delay line, pitch changer, and versatile special effects unit. The Time Reversal function is entirely new. When used as a variable-speed tape recorder, the Harmonizer can shorten or lengthen program material to fit within a given time slot without changing the pitch.""
