■What is Real-Time FX?
■What is Synergy Core Native?
A uniquely designed, multi-purpose surgical tool
Inspired by the legendary Pultec passive EQP design, the Gyraf Audio Gyratec XIV uses the same parallel filter as its predecessor. By utilizing topology, its versatility and functionality are extended to an astonishing level.
This amplifier, a modern version of the Pultec EQP, features five independent bands and 11 switchable frequencies within each band, resulting in a staggering 55 possible boost or cut frequencies. Furthermore, each band is equipped with a variable Q and a cut/bypass/boost switch.
What makes the Gyratec XIV a true passive tube EQ is its unique parallel G14 filter design. This design, combined with the tube-based makeup gain/output stage, allows for switching inductor and capacitor combinations within the circuit.
One of its unique features is the behavior of the variable ""Q"" setting. When a band is set to ""boost,"" the ""Q"" is relatively wide. Conversely, when set to ""cut,"" the filter's sharpness becomes narrower and more aggressive, approaching a notch at extreme settings. This makes the Gyratec XIV function not only as a powerful mastering equalizer but also as a precise surgical tool.
Another side effect of Gyratec's circuit topology is the subtle expansion of the stereo image when used with stereo sources. When applied to a mix bus, it adds spatial breadth to the mix without introducing audible artifacts or phase distortion.
Antelope Audio has modeled every component of the original hardware unit, from inductors and capacitors to the precise impedance of the input and output transformers. Then, using the original circuit diagram, we have digitally reconstructed the Gyratec XIV. Furthermore, the Gyratec XIV AFX also supports mono mode, making it an efficient mixing tool for any source or situation.
■Features
・Record in real time with near-zero latency using Gyratec XIV (Antelope Audio Synergy Core interface only)
・Mix with Gyratec XIV using AFX2DAW plugins (up to 36 instances)
・Apply rich mastering equalization and precise corrections
・Inject the true thickness, depth, and character of the hardware unit into your tracks
