The FILTEK MK3, designed in the 1970s, was a highly successful product. Its success was not surprising, given that it was manufactured to meet the stringent standards required by the IRT (Technical Research Laboratory). Initially, due to high manufacturing costs, these modules were only available to the most prestigious radio stations. However, these broadcast-ready modules eventually became rack-mounted in recording studios worldwide.

The MK3, a versatile equalizer boasting a remarkably modern and clear sound for its time, effortlessly handles all aspects of sound shaping, from wide sweeps to delicate adjustments. The combination of controls and switches allows for a wide range of experimentation. For example, extreme settings across a broad bandwidth transform the high and low frequencies into superior shelving filters.

Thanks to its efficient design employing the best engineering techniques and high-quality components, the MK3 has proven capable of not only modifying but also enhancing frequency ranges. For instance, it can boost high frequencies without adding harshness.

For the Synergy Core FX platform, Antelope's engineering team modeled a 3-band design with high-pass and low-pass filters. This is perhaps the most distinctive and flexible model in the history of the FILTEK MK3. Each band offers 12 selectable frequency bands, allowing for up to 16dB of boost and cut. Each band has a three-position bandwidth (Q) switch, allowing you to bypass a specific band in the middle position.

The Filtek MK3 also offers unique tone-shaping possibilities, as its parallel EQ signal path allows you to mix the raw (dry) signal with additional cut/boost across each bell filter frequency range.

Clean and transparent, yet packed with punch and character when pushed, the FILTEK MK3 provides a fantastic addition to your frequency adjustment toolbox.
