Synthesizer filters can track the pitch to maintain the instrument's timbre. In contrast, sound equalizers can only adjust a fixed frequency range. While typical EQs are effective for wide-band timbre adjustment and room acoustics correction, they are not adept at maintaining the timbre of vocals or instruments when the melody changes.

SuferEQ 2 can track the pitch fluctuations of monophonic instruments and vocals, and adapt their frequency ranges in real time to match the music. It also maintains a natural balance of harmonics according to the sound being played, creating the optimal timbre.

SurferEQ 2's seven bands feature ""SURF mode."" In this mode, the frequency ranges automatically adjust to track changes in the pitch of instruments and vocals. It's also possible to control the pitch using MIDI notes, and even input the EQ range from a keyboard, allowing you to create instruments with unique timbres.

• Unique Filter Algorithm

In developing SurferEQ 2's filter algorithm, we made every effort to maintain the size, energy, and transients of the sound. (After all, there's no precedent for this kind of EQ!) This asymmetrical filter, almost like an analog filter, maintains a natural sound in any situation. In addition to high-pass, low-pass, shelving, and peak filters, we created a unique ""harmonic filter"" with four modes. This filter allows you to control the entire harmonic series of an instrument using just one band.

The biggest challenge in developing a real-time pitch detection algorithm was reducing harmonic errors without compromising the algorithm's performance during processing. We spent over a year researching and developing such an error-free and accurate pitch detection engine.
