For good sound mixing, phase relationships are extremely important.

For example, when combining multiple tracks on a stereo mix bus, the frequency ranges and phases tend to cause overlapping and mutual influence of instrument sounds. Also, the bass may be out of phase with the kick drum or rhythm guitar, or cancellations resulting from overlapping frequency ranges can cause a temporary ""drop"" in the low end.

Similarly, the resonance of the tom drums may be out of phase with the snare drum, often resulting in a thinning of the snare sound. Pi dynamically rotates the phase of each mixer channel, improving the accuracy of phase correlation. It minimizes the negative effects that arise between phases, significantly improving the overall sound of the mix. Try adding Pi to the final insert slot of each mixer channel in your DAW and listen to how the sound changes.

■Key Features of Pi

• Dynamic Phase Rotation

Instruments with similar frequencies, such as bass and kick drum, can temporarily experience phase shifts or cancel each other's fundamental frequencies. This results in a thin, weak sound. Because this phenomenon occurs to varying degrees within changing frequencies, simple phase rotators or equalizers cannot solve it. Pi constantly analyzes the phase correlation of each track and dynamically adjusts each phase. This maintains the timbre and depth of the instruments and achieves optimal correlation.

• Accurate Multitrack Recognition

Pi uses its proprietary central background processor to analyze and process the phase position of each track with high precision at the sample level, improving the optimal phase relationship within the mix in real time.

• Multiband Phase Correlation Meter

The display on Pi shows the movement of each frequency band in addition to the overall phase correlation.


• Group & Global Operation Mode

64 groupings are available to combine multiple microphones or related instruments, allowing for collective phase adjustment. Two modes are available for the phase adjustment bandwidth: ""Full Range"" and ""Low Bandwidth.""
