A secret weapon to some, a treasure trove of secrets to others, the Valley People Dyna-mite is a versatile limiter/expander like a Swiss Army knife.
Valley People has long been known for its distinctive sound, and its unique, musical sound has served as a creative inspiration for audio engineers working with dynamic processing.

However, its genius has also led to its reputation as a device that is difficult to use and unwieldy.
Now, with a focus on essential features, modern versions, the Dyna-mite Slam and Dyna-mite Gate, are born.

Valley People founder Paul Buff built custom gear for Frank Zappa.
It was cool gear, that's for sure. In 1980, he patented the TA-101 VCA, the heart of the Dyna-mite, and his reputation has been unparalleled ever since.

At its core, the Dyna-mite is a limiter/expander, but its countless switch positions allow it to handle all kinds of dynamics processing in one unit. Gating, RMS compression, keying, ducking, or even extreme level adjustments are all possible.

- Limiting: Peak and average limiting. Negative limiting ratio (-20:1) and detector HF filtering (when used as a de-esser)

Expanding: Hard or soft with extreme settings and detector HF filtering

External side chain for ducking or keying modes

0.05–5 sec/20 dB release. Anticipatory Release Computation (ARC) reduces pumping

Analog-modeled output distortion (for a more analog feel)
