TK AUDIO / T-Komp

The TK AUDIO/T-Komp is a dual-mono compressor whose compression ratio changes according to the input level. The T-Komp is a uniquely designed dual mono compressor that brings the ratio curve of a classic variable-mu compressor to modern recording. The ratio is level-dependent, meaning the compression ratio increases as the input level increases. This offers a highly versatile compressor design.

For greater flexibility, the T-Komp features two ratio oranges: a range up to 20:1, ideal for smashing instruments, especially drum tracks, and a narrower range up to 2:1, perfect for bus compression.

Furthermore, the T-Komp offers two selectable modes: a feedforward mode for a punchy, modern response, and a feedback mode for a smoother, more musical response.

The RMS detector detection speed of the T-Komp can be set using five controls called Timing controls. The fourth setting is the slowest, which is the same setting as the 160-VU compressor. The speeds from there to the first setting are progressively faster. The fifth setting is a program-dependent adaptive mode. In this mode, the RMS detector functions faster for fast signals and slower for slow signals to prevent unwanted low frequencies.
