The Double Triode Limiter is a tube microphone preamp optimized to work with all types of microphones.

Its wide gain range allows you to record drums with even the most subdued ribbon microphones. It's also suitable for recording tracks from external devices such as synthesizers and drum machines (like the Akai MPC). Reamping tracks in your DAW yields excellent results, adding fantastic tube saturation to your sound. A high-impedance (HiZ) input on the front panel allows you to connect electric or bass guitars directly to the early stages of a tube amp's grid (a common HiZ solution).



The limiter section can be used as an additional feature. This can be used to limit the peak level of the input signal, and the limiting component uses a custom-designed photocell by IGS Audio. When the limiter is active, the LED labeled ""Limit"" on the front panel illuminates. A limiter controls excessive signals and prevents digital clipping at the input in an ADC. Another use is as a drum compressor or mix bus compressor. This can improve the overall dynamics of the mix and give it a brighter sound.
