The Successor is a fully Carnhill-built unit with transformer-coupled inputs and outputs, featuring the familiar 73-type Class A output stage, advanced sidechain filtering, and parallel compression capabilities. It's a diode bridge-based stereo bus compressor.

Based on the design of legendary vintage diode bridges, it retains the sonic characteristics of that unit while its added features transform it into a new beast, making your mixes shine in modern production environments. Its ultra-fast attack and release give drum bus compression a more powerful sound, and the modern sidechain filtering allows for unprecedented sound shaping.

○Extremely accurate left/right tracking and gain cell matching that minimizes channel offset enable true stereo operation with a single control. Compressor tracking operates in Oxford mode (compression acts on the larger input signal, not the sum of the left and right channels).

○Equipped with Carnhill transformers to add character and vintage feel. Transformer-coupled balanced input/output.

○73-type Class A output stage delivers the desired sound to your mix or drum bus.

○Diode bridge-based compression provides the character of second-harmonic distortion and a true vintage tone, excelling at eliminating unwanted odd-order harmonics.

* The ultra-fast attack/release time options, not found in vintage designs, allow for FET-like sounds and far more flexible settings, such as maximizing volume without transient artifacts.

* The advanced sidechain filter includes not only the well-known high-pass filter type, but also a mid-band peak type filter and high-frequency options, enabling unprecedented sound shaping.

* Sidechain send/return connections allow for the application of external sidechain signals as well as further external processing of the internal signal.
