An expansion card that enables Thunderbolt 3 connection of Universal Audio's audio interface Apollo rack model.
■ Thunderbolt 3 option card
An optional card that allows you to easily attach the Thunderbolt 3 terminal to the expansion bay of the current Thunderbolt 2 equipped Apollo rack model (replace with the installed Thunderbolt 2 card). With this option card installed, users can connect directly to the Thunderbolt 3 terminals on the latest compatible Mac and Windows computers. This allows for ultra-wideband connectivity (up to 40 Gbps) and also allows bus power to be supplied downstream to the connected Thunderbolt 3.
It can also be installed on the current Firewire model Apollo Firewire, as well as on the first Apollo rack model.

◎Important Notice Regarding Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Port
“USB-C (USB Type-C)” simply refers to the shape of the connector. Therefore, not all USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connectors are also used for other protocols such as USB 3.1 and USB 2.0).
Please check the manual and other documents in advance to make sure that the computer and cable you connect to support Thunderbolt 3. Some USB-C ports also have the Thunderbolt logo printed on them to identify Thunderbolt 3 compatible ports.
