Minor changes were made to suit modern playing styles. The body material was changed to a hard maple top and mahogany back, shifting to a wider range of sound. The Floyd Rose tremolo arm-up recess cavity was eliminated. The neck pickup was moved to the middle pickup position, and the pickups were changed to Seymour Duncan SCR-1 Cool Rail and TB-6 Distortion.
