The 535 is modeled after the highly acclaimed API console-based 325 booster card, and features amplifier and attenuation functions on both input and output, providing flexibility to suit any usage situation. It delivers the warm, tonal API sound.

Furthermore, audio playback devices, microphone preamps, or audio processors that lack their own level control functions can be enhanced with the 535-LA to add tonal shaping and level control. The 535-LA also features balanced inputs, a phase inversion switch, a 20dB pad, and a 3-position toggle switch, allowing for various output gain levels from the transformer. Similar to the 325 booster card, it is designed to drive balanced signals over long distances with low distortion. The output gain range is from 6dB to 45dB. To produce the unique, warm, and reliable sound that API users expect, the 535 uses discrete 2510 and 2520 operational amplifiers in conjunction with API's original transformers. ■Features
