A shotgun microphone capsule that can be attached to the H5/H6 handy recorder and the Q8 video recorder. About half as compact as a general shotgun microphone with equivalent performance.

A super directional microphone that suppresses ambient noise and captures the target sound firmly and clearly. You can use "H6" as a perfect audio recorder suitable for professional audio recording such as movies, videos, theaters and news coverage.

With the 3 microphones inside the capsule and the advanced DSP processing technology of the "H6" body, the "SGH-6" has a sharp directional characteristic compared to a general shotgun microphone using a physical acoustic tube. While maintaining excellent frequency characteristics, the total length is suppressed to about half.

Shotgun microphones are often used when recording a video of a person making a speech. For example, it is useful when the speaker cannot be equipped with a pin microphone or when the speaker's voice is aimed from behind the video camera. However, please note that the shotgun microphone cannot be used as a telephoto lens of a camera. When the distance from the sound source is short, the effect is satisfactory, but when the distance from the sound source exceeds about 1 meter, the recorded sound has a sense of distance. The ambience component increases as the distance increases, so it is a good point to record from a position that is not too far from the sound source.
