■Mike Stern is a highly talented contemporary jazz guitarist. His music and playing style, boldly fusing elements of jazz, funk, blues, and hard rock, have evolved alongside this guitar, which captures the player's imagination. The sensitive pickup and body faithfully convey the player's expression, from the subtle nuances of picking to the attack of hard chord cutting. Yamaha's proprietary I.R.A. treatment also enhances the body's resonance.
■The combination of two Seymour Duncan pickups, the ""'59"" (neck) and the ""Hot Rail"" (rear), boasts a rich range of tones, from clean to warm and mild to distortion.
■I.R.A. treatment: This is Yamaha's proprietary technology that applies appropriate vibrations to the completed instrument, reducing stress on paint, adhesives, and other materials present in the instrument immediately after assembly, and promoting the instrument's vibration.
