The 560 was developed for use with API mixing consoles from the 1960s and 70s, and after its reissue, it has been praised as a unit that accomplishes tasks that no other equalizer can do. Its ""one-of-a-kind"" API sound is delivered through easy operation, high headroom and precise filtering, and a very compact package. With zero-click faders, quick resets are possible, and the sound itself is unparalleled. In particular, the sonic characteristics around ±4dB have been greatly improved by injecting modern technology. This unit, which employs API's characteristic all-discrete circuitry and dedicated components (the traditional original op-amp 2520), is a product that truly fuses past achievements with current technology. The 560 is designed to be useful in all situations for professional engineers. This user-friendly graphic equalizer was used in all recording consoles manufactured by API from the 70s to the 80s. Its performance was ideal in both studios and live stages. This reissued unit faithfully reflects the original design drawings of the time, and is designed with the latest modern technology. The 10-band controller in the 560 is an excellent tool for audio sweetening and sound field correction, working seamlessly with parametric equalizers. Like other API equalizers, the 560 features a ""proportional Q"" design, allowing for wider or narrower bandwidths, resulting in finer adjustments than a typical controller.
