■Points in deciding the power amplifier to be combined with your speakers

"Maximum Allowable Speaker input (PGM: program)> Rated output of power amplifier (RMS: effective value)"

  1. 1.Check speaker impedance and allowable input

    Example) CLASSIC PRO CSP 10
    impedance: 8 Ω, Maximum Allowable input: 500 W (PGM)

  2. 2.Check the rated output of the power amplifier

    Example) CLASSIC PRO CP1000
    8 Ω at 340W + 340W (RMS)

Inputting a signal larger than the speaker's Maximum Allowable input or inputting a large signal with an output close to the speaker's Maximum Allowable input value for a long time can cause damage to the speaker.

If the power amplifier exceeds the maximum output, the output signal will clip. A signal whose waveform has changed like a rectangular wave by clipping may cause the speaker to be damaged, such as causing the driver to have a large amplitude or generating harmonics that cause burnout. Therefore, it is important to choose a suitable power amplifier, as it makes it easier to clip large speakers with a small amplifier, which can increase the risk of speaker damage.

Generally, 8Ω speakers are often connected to each other. For example, if two 8Ω speakers are connected, it will be used as a 4Ω system.

The target W number is said to be "one spectator = 1 W" for speech events and "one spectator = 3 W" for events where sound pressure and volume such as live shows are required. Also, in outdoor events, unlike indoors, the sound spreads, so try to use twice the W value as a guide. However, depending on various conditions, the way you hear the sound changes, so please use it as a guide only.
