Features / Functions

Smoke machines make the light source of various lighting equipment and the beams of the laser lights more visible by emitting a high viscosity liquid in the form of mist, and to enhance the lighting effects. They are also used to produce effects like fog and clouds.

Precautions when using

Depending on the amount of smoke output and the type of fire alarm etc., smoke detectors may be activated. In particular, when using in a building with poor ventilation, check with the local fire department or the building management office before use.
It is consumable equipment that is easily clogged due to solidification and precipitation of the liquid component because it is equipment that uses special liquid. Please be sure to carry out regular maintenance of the equipment.

Smoke machine types

Smoke machines handled by Sound House are classified into the following two types.

Water-soluble type (fog liquid use)

A fog machine is usually used after warming up for about 5 to 10 minutes. By outputting smoke for a long time, the heater may then be cooled, or it may not be able to output temporarily due to the heat-up and may be stopped by an overheat protection circuit.

Fog machine

A type that outputs smoke.

Fog production fog machine

A type that outputs misty smoke.

Low fog machine (ice machine)

Basically the function is the same as the fog machine, but the tip of the fog machine is equipped with an ice or dry ice tank, which cools the smoke and outputs the smoke along the floor or stage.

Oil-based type (uses haze liquid)

There is no need to warm up the oil because it sprays in the form of a mist in the compressor, so constant output is possible. Relatively, it is possible to spread fog evenly, so it is possible to produce more beautiful and finer mist. Since the liquid is oil-based, dirt from oil components may adhere to lighting equipment, as well as to various other equipment and the interior of the building.

A type that outputs very fine mist of smoke.

About liquid

For fog liquid, use a liquid that is appropriate for your machine. The STAGE EVOLUTION FLG5, which is sold at Sound House, is highly pure fog liquid, and can be used with STAGE EVOLUTION, ANTARI and American DJ fog machines. Haze Liquid is recommended for use with American DJ's HAZE machines, and can be used with American DJ and ANTARI haze machines.

Fog liquid

Five liter bottle of liquid fog machines to make thick, white smoke. The aqueous type gradually diffuses into the room. A versatile type that can be used for fog machines from different manufacturers.

Replacement liquid for haze machines

Four liter bottle of liquid for Haze Machines that produce fine, misty smoke. There is no required heat up time for haze machines.
Oil-based type.

About fragrances

When fog liquid is vaporized, it has a sweet and fragrant smell. If you are concerned about this smell, you can add a different scent with a special fragrance to the fog liquid.

Fog liquid fragrances

As lemon, musk, vanilla, etc. are rich in kinds of aroma, it is good to use moderately according to the situation.

How to use fragrance

We recommend mixing 30ml of FSCENT in 5 liters of STAGE EVOLUTION FLG 5.
With regard to the intensity of the scent, please adjust the mix ratio to your liking.

※Smoke is not output if only fragrance alone is poured into the fog machine tank. Also, the fragrance on its own (not mixed with fog liquid) will damage the machine, so be sure to mix the fragrance with fog liquid.

Fog machine maintenance

Cautions
Be sure to turn off the power when not using for a long time. If the power is always on, repeated heat up and cooling may cause clogging of the pump or tubes. Also, never use old fog liquid or fog liquid mixed with other liquids. The guideline for the expiration date of fog lights is one year after opening.
Immediately after fog liquid is poured into the tank, be sure to fasten the lid of the tank and the fog liquid bottle. Dust and / or evaporation of liquid in the liquid can cause pump and tube clogging.
Perform internal cleaning after every 40 hours of use to prevent the accumulation of contaminants inside the main unit. Or, if you do not use it for more than a week, please discard the liquid in the tank and clean the inside.

Method of internal cleaning

After emptying the tank, fill the tank to about ? full with a cleaning agent (distilled water: 80%, acetic acid: 20%) in the tank and turn on the unit.
After warm-up of the main body, please carry out fog output until there is almost no cleaning agent in the tank. At this time, please be careful not to empty the tank.
After the cleaning operation is complete, pour in fog liquid and allow the machine to operate for a short time. This makes it possible to output the cleaning agent remaining in the pump and heater.

※Never operate the fog machine with an empty liquid tank.
※If the heater unit, pump, or tube is clogged, it will not be able to output fog.
※A clogged heater unit is not covered by the warranty.
