How to make a guitar cable

Before soldering the connector and cable, put the cable through the connector bushing in advance.

After passing the cable through the bushing, remove about 10 mm of the cable coating with a cutter.
※ When cutting the coating of the cable, be careful not to cut the shield wire inside. With a wire stripper, you can cut it easily.
(Please cut the cover according to the length of the bushing as it may differ depending on the type of connector.)

Unwind and bundle the shielded shield wire. When unwinding the shield wire, it is convenient to use a toothpick or other pointed object.

If there is a black coating (conductive vinyl) wound around the core wire, remove it with a cutter, pliers, etc. until you reach a transparent coating.
※ Not it will short if you touch the core wire

Strip the end of the core wire with a cutter or wire stripper about 3 mm.
If you accidentally cut the core, cut the cable and start over.

Cut extra lines to match the length of where the connectors will join.

Apply extra solder (*) before soldering.
※ Extra solder is to flow solder in advance to the wire. By doing this, you can solder cleanly.

When soldering, the connector should be fixed to a device with a phone jack such as an effector, to make soldering. If you do not have an effector jack handy, fix the plug in place with pliers etc.

Solder from core wire. Place a soldering iron slightly on the connector terminals and heat will improve the ride of the solder. After soldering the core wire as it gets hot, wait a little while and then solder the shield wire.
(Be careful not to put a soldering iron on the terminal for a long time, as it may cause a failure and the cable may melt.)

Once the connector is cool enough, bend the ground claws, fix the cable, and install the connector bushing.
