How to choose a DJ app

A DJ app for iPhones released by Pioneer DJ. Not only can you have your music stored locally, but you can also use DJ streaming music services such as Beatport LINK, so anyone can use it to play dance music perfect for DJing. You can even select major songs that you know and love.

It also works with SoundCloud's subscription service, SoundCloud Go, but at present (as of May 2020), the SoundCloud Go service itself is not available in Japan. If the service is launched in Japan as well, you'll have over 125 million songs on SoundCloud at your disposal. You’ll be able to incorporate these into your DJing, so I think we can say that we're all looking forward to the launch in the future.

A 3-band EQ + TRIM control, HOTCUE, LOOP, sampler, and many other functions can be controlled with the iPhone alone, but if you are looking for more control, we recommend using the app with a DJ controller.
WeDJ is compatible with DDJ-200, DDJ-WeGO3 and WeGO4, so you can enjoy more intuitive, authentic DJing.

In addition, they have added new support functions like a "Tutorial Function" and "Transition FX Function" for beginners, so you can enjoy DJing more easily than ever before.

One of the top DJ apps and one of the most popular as well. The app used to be called "djay 2", but after some updates, it is now called just “djay”.

With the updates, the sound quality has been improved, and in terms of features, the maximum number of HOTCUEs has been increased from three to eight, and the ability to choose from two or four decks gives you more mixing possibilities.

Also, the range of one-shot sampler sound sources and audio loops has been greatly expanded, and upgrading to the paid version will add over 40 samples and beat-loop sound packs in total. Supporting Ableton LINK, it allows you to create live performances and it is also the perfect DJ app for ReMix.

It also supports integration with streaming services, but as of July 1, 2020, it will no longer support Spotify.

It is possible to use it with TIDAL and SoundCloud Go ＋, but neither of these is supported in Japan yet. Currently, DJing with songs stored locally on a smartphone or PC rather than streaming is the main focus.

Like WeDJ, it can also be connected to a DJ controller, such as the DDJ-200, DDJ-WeGo4, BEATPAD2, MIXON4 and MIXTOUR for DJ play.

TRAKTOR PRO is a DJ app for iPads and PC that uses Native Instruments' TRAKTOR PRO DJ software.
It is recommended for those who want to DJ using TRAKTOR PRO in the field, it has an operative feel similar to TRAKTOR PRO.
