Points for choosing a scratch DJ mixer

The crossfader is light. The lighter part allows quicker fader operation.

The durability of the crossfader is high.Even if you practice a lot, it will be difficult to break the cross-fader.

The width of the mixer is narrow. With only two players, they are close, and you can quickly and easily operate and switch between the two.

Can adjust the crossfader curve. This makes it possible to scratch more finely.

Analog turntable and mixer connection

The audio signal output from an analog turntable is very small, and connecting it to the LINE INPUT of the mixer produces a low volume sound no matter how much the volume is raised. Be sure to input to PHONO INPUT. Remember to connect the ground wire.

CDJ and mixer connection

Contrary to the analog turntable, connecting CDJ to PHONO INPUT will cause distortion due to the large output level. Be sure to connect to LINE INPUT. When using Pioneer or American Audio's fader start function, don't forget to connect the dedicated cable.

Crossfader

The role of the crossfader in the 2ch DJ mixer is to adjust the mix of CH1 and CH2 outputs. The sound on the CH2 side decreases as you move to the fader towards CH1 side. In addition, the crossfader's curve switching function can be used to create a crisp scratching sound.

Input fader (vertical fader)

The input fader can adjust the volume of each channel. It can also be used to adjust the volume of scratch sounds like delay effects.

Trim

The volume level differs depending on the record or CD, so this control is used to adjust the variation of the volume. Each channel has an LED level meter, so you can visually check and adjust the level. If the groove of a record is fine like an album, raising the trim can bring it closer to the volume of other records.

EQ

It consists of 2 bands of HI (treble) and LOW (bass) (or 3 bands of HI, MID, LOW), and can cut and boost each range. By cutting the bass, you can create a more crisp scratch sound.

CUE

When monitoring with headphones, this switch allows you to select the channel you want to monitor. If there is a crossfader type switch, it is possible to check the scratch without making having actual output from the unit.
