The PBR-8 is a 500 series rack unique to Black Lion Audio. The 8-slot 500 Series chassis features a fully balanced TT/Bantam patchbay for quick sound routing without having to mount modules in a specific order. In addition, by installing Heritage Audio's OST, it provides a clean and isolated power environment while providing sufficient power to each slot. These offer flexible routing and stable, reliable power while retaining the compactness and convenience of the 500 Series.

The popular 500-compatible module is great for quickly adjusting your sound, but lacks flexible routing options without expensive external patchbays or wiring harnesses. Using a 500 Series setup live also meant bringing snake cables and accessing the back panel on stage, and there was no easy solution to linking modules in separate racks.

To solve this problem, the PBR-8 features a fully balanced TT/Bantam patchbay, giving you unlimited routing options to quickly tweak your sound without having to mount modules in a specific order. Test your signal chain, change routing, split it using built-in Mults, and send/output to modules in separate racks, all from the front panel.

Additionally, stable and reliable power supply has been one of the long-standing issues that have plagued the 500 series format. To solve this problem, the PBR-8 is equipped with OST (On Slot Technology) developed by Heritage Audio. This technology allows each channel to have its own rate of variation, ensuring that noise, power issues, and crosstalk in one module do not affect other modules. Powerful power supplies deliver up to 400mA per rail/slot, totaling 1.6A per rail (1.8A non-continuous). In combination with the patch bay, OST makes the PBR-8 not only one of the quietest and most reliable 500 series power supplies, but also the most capable and flexible.
