言わずと知れた本製品。「人体が触れないところ」の金属部品の潤滑、防錆に是非。
僕が信頼しているリペアマンから教えてもらった使用法で、トレモロの支点（2点式、6点式、他FRT含むシンクロナイスド系全般）へ使うと非常にアクションがスムーズになりチューニングも狂いにくくなります。保護効果も恐らくあるのでユニットの長寿命化も期待できる。
方法は、トレモロユニットをボディーとスプリングから外して、掃除をした後の仕上げで、動作の支点（スタッドとの接触部）に556を塗布し、余分な液はエアーで吹き飛ばし、後はトレモロをもとに戻すだけです。
高頻度でやることではないと思います。半年から1年の周期で十分ではないでしょうか（酷使する人はもう少し周期が短くていいかも）。または、トレモロ動作の不調を感じた時にこれを行うのもいいですね。これでも良くならなかったら潔くリペアマンに頼りましょう。
