An active direct box with numerous functions, including a distinctive DRAG control. It also has a switcher function that allows you to switch or mix two inputs, making it useful in a variety of situations.
Input
There are two inputs, A and B, which can be switched or mixed for output. Switching can be done with the switch on the main unit, or with the optional dual footswitch. The footswitch also has a mute function.
Supports a variety of sources
You can connect a variety of devices, such as basses and acoustic guitars with various pickups (passive/active/piezo), high-output line-level instruments such as keyboards, and clip-on microphones for acoustic instruments (CH A only). It is also possible to supply 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Both channels can be set to an impedance of 10MΩ, which is optimal for piezo pickups.
DRAG control
By turning on the DRAG control on channel A, you can adjust the impedance and reproduce the sound of a direct connection to the amplifier. This is particularly effective when connecting instruments with passive pickups. Channel B only allows impedance switching (220k/10M).
High-pass filter
The high-pass filters on both channels A and B cut unnecessary low frequencies to create a clear sound. This is especially useful when playing acoustic instruments of different sizes together, such as a double bass, acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, or mandolin.
PHASER
When mixing two inputs (A/B), you can adjust the phase. If you input an acoustic guitar pickup to A and a microphone to B, you can align the phase to create a vivid and brilliant sound.
+20dB switch
Switches the output from microphone level to line level. This is useful when recording directly from this unit without using a preamp.
Other
There is also a 180° polarity inversion for vintage equipment, a ground lift and isolation function to prevent hum noise, a through terminal for connecting to an amplifier, and a dedicated terminal for a tuner.
