This original capacitor (condenser) is molded from a New Old Stock (NOS) oil capacitor. Its 0.022uF specification is commonly used for guitars and basses with humbucking pickups. It's a popular capacitor not only for upgrading your wiring but also for its stately appearance.

~How to Choose a Capacitor~
A capacitor is a simple electronic component with an electrically non-conductive insulator sandwiched between two electrodes. When used with a guitar or bass, it adjusts how much of the high-frequency signal is dropped to ground when the tone control is operated (i.e., how muffled and mellow the sound is).
The effectiveness of a capacitor is measured in μF (microfarads), a unit of capacitance that can accept the incoming signal.
The greater the capacitance (μF/microfarad), the wider the range of frequencies that can be dropped to ground, resulting in a muffled and mellow sound.
For example, if your current pickup is equipped with a 0.022μF, and you want a mellower sound, choose a larger capacitance like 0.047μF or 0.1μF. If you want a more gradual tone, choose a lower capacitance like 0.01μF to get closer to your ideal sound.

Generally, 0.047μF (sometimes written as 473μF) is used for the tone of guitar single-coil pickups, while 0.022μF (sometimes written as 223μF) is used for humbucking pickups and bass pickups.
