■Three Tape Head Modes
El Capistan's three tape head modes encompass the characteristics of tape echo machines with fixed head positions and the essence of models with fixed tape speeds.

In this mode, the ""TIME control"" adjusts the tape speed.

■Comprehensive Controls Hidden in a Small Housing
Tape Crinkle: Recreates tape defects such as friction, wrinkles, dirt, and splices. The minimum setting recreates a well-maintained, brand new tape, while the maximum setting recreates a worn, tattered tape. This parameter affects the sound depending on the tape speed.

■Sound-on-Sound (Loop) Function

When set to ""TAPE HEAD: Single / MODE: C,"" recording begins like an echo machine. To determine the length of tape to record, first press the TAP switch to set the start position on the recording tape. Next, press the TAP switch again to set the stop position (tape splice). All controls remain active while the sound is repeated, allowing you to adjust the sound quality in real time. Pressing the TAP switch a third time erases the entire recording.

The recording time is 20 seconds at slow speed and 10 seconds at fast speed.

■Like a moving-head machine (Echoplex), the El Capistan features a ""sound-on-sound"" function that repeats the recorded sound. In addition to the recording functionality of an echo machine, this unit also features tape splice setting and one-shot erase functions, allowing it to be used as a tape-style ""looper.""

■Analog Dry Mix
The input signal (guitar signal, etc.) is not converted to analog and is mixed with the delay signal as is. The analog signal path uses a high-end HiFi-level mixer circuit with an internally boosted analog power supply, ensuring the original sound is not compromised.

■Signal Level Adjustment Function
El Capistan allows you to adjust the signal level within a +/- 3dB range when the effect is on.

■TRUE & Buffered Bypass Selection
You can choose between Buffered Bypass, which leaves the delay sound when bypass is switched on, or TRUE & Buffered Bypass, which completely cuts off the delay sound.

■Mono Input, Stereo Output
Mono unbalanced terminals are provided for the left and right channels. Not only can it be used as a stereo guitar effect, but it also supports +4dB signals, so it can be connected to a mixer insert and used like a rack-mounted effect.

■Real-time Remote Knob Control
You can assign one of the five knob controls to an expression pedal for real-time control.

■ Preset Memory
Use the optional footswitch to switch between FAVORITE presets (one favorite setting can be memorized) and control knob settings.
