French horn types
Single horn
There are two main types, F and B, and only three rotaries change the pitch. Because the mechanism is simple, it is characterized by being relatively inexpensive and light in wind.
Double horn
Semi-double
Horn improved to play two tonality sounds. A detour tube (referred to as a correction tube) has been added to the high tonality instrument so that the lower tonality can also be played. (Correction pitch method)
Full double
B♭ ・ F use two independent tonality switching valves. Unlike the semi-double type, when using one tonality, the other pipe is not bypassed.
The following are special horns
Triple horn
An even higher range high-F tube than the double horn.
Vienna Horn
An F-tube single horn used by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
It has two piston valves and a double-winding removable blow tube (Bogen).
Bell cut
Integral type (one piece)
It features a bright tone and a light wind feel.
Removable type (detachable)
It features a timbre and a good sense of resistance. Compact storage is also possible.
